Why Does God Ask You to Depend on Him?
Brian Sooy • February 17, 2020
From the provision of manna to the Lord’s prayer, God’s reminder to his children is, “Depend on Me.”
“He was the one who fed you in the desert with manna, which your ancestors had never seen. He did this in order to humble you and test you. But he also did this so that things would go well for you in the end.” (Deuteronomy 8:16, GW)
Not only does God ask us to depend on him, he often surprises us with resources and paths we “had never seen.”
Why?
“So that things would go well for you in the end.”
Lord, as we rest this week and lift up thanksgiving and praise you for your unfailing love and unlimited provision, remind us you are a God of generosity and not scarcity.
