The Vice President of Finance & Business Administration will exercise general supervision of all accounts of SCC, including receipts and disbursements of endowment gifts, scholarships, student fees and tuition; oversee the general administration of the operating budget of SCC including all revenues and expenses; provide oversight of all aspects of the college's financial administration including financial planning, operating and capital budgeting, revenue and expenditure analysis, financial and management reporting, human resources, payroll and procurement, investments and risk management as well as accounting, tax and compliance responsibilities; work with other executives to provide strategic leadership in the areas of department budgeting, financial management and business support operations; initiate and respond to an annual audit of accounting records made by a Certified Public Accountant who is approved by the Board of Trustees; serve as a resource leader to the Administrative Committee of the Board of Trustees; work with and assist the Administrative Committee of the Board of Trustees in establishing investment and spending policies; prepare appropriate reports to the Administration Committee and semi-annual business reports for the Board of Trustees; organize, interpret and present relevant financial data, including identification of significant success/problem indicators to the President's Leadership Team; prepare long-term financial forecasts and studies on various financially related matters. The VP will also develop effective student financial services techniques consistent with campus-wide enrollment, financial and fund-raising strategies; serve as the Coordinator of HR in the design, and implementation and oversight of all personnel functions, policies, procedures, programs, general control methods, records, and files as required for effective personnel functions; lead in the hiring process of properly qualified employees; help foster a positive organizational climate; coordinate the college's relationship with lending institutions and the financial community; assist in oversight of the contractual relationships with vendors; assist in the development of a comprehensive IT plan that supports SCC's vision and strategic initiatives; oversight of the Assistant Vice President of Finance and strong involvement with the Senior Accountant, student billing and bookkeeping personnel.
